DEPOSIT

How much is the deposit and what is it for?

The last step of the appointment booking is the deposit payment between 50 € and 150 € . I will send you the payment request once we have agreed on day and time of the session. After having received the deposit you'll get an appointment confirmation from me and I'll start working on the tattoo design. On the last session day the price of your tattoo is reduced by the amount of the deposit. The amount depends on the expense of the design or appointment preparation. Custom designs always require a deposit of at least 100 €.

On the one hand the deposit provides financial security for me in case of short-term cancellation or you don't show up on the day of your appoinment. The deposit is the forfeited as I won't be able to assign the appointment to another customer and need to compensate for the loss of earnings. On the other hand the deposit compensates the work I have put in the preperation of your appointment auch as the tattoo design and consultation. Unfortunately I had to experience that the effort and time I put in my designs and preparations of appointents are not valued by everyone. Good faith in people left me unpayed and frustrated many times which is why I had to start taking deposits to protect myself. I can imagine that the deposit sounds high or risky for some people when work is payed before they know the outcome, but I hope you understand why the deposit is necessary. In case the design I propose doesn't meet your idea at all I will alsways make an effort to rework your design until you're happy with it.  financial compromise.

Deposit regulations

You can reschedule your appointment up to 5 days. The deposit will be retained if you don't show up without cancellation or if you cancel the appointment less than 5 days in advance. Exception: If you have to cancel at short notice due to illness or other urgent cases, you should be able to provide appropriate evidence (e.g. a medical certificate) so that your deposit not forfeited. The deposit will also be retained if you generally no longer want the final custom design which we had already agreed on. Note that in case of a general cancellation early in advance your deposit may be refunded partly corresponding to working hours I have already spent on your design preperation.

PRICES

How much is a tattoo?

The total price of a tattoo consists of various aspects. First it covers the preparation of your session such as the creation of the design, consultation and equipment setup. It also includes all materials used for tattooing and wound care as well as my effort and time. To make tattoo prices transperent and predictable my tattoos aren't priced by an hourly wage but by it's features like line thickness, details or shading techniques. This allows me to work as slow or fast as I need and you can ask for breaks without any bad feelings. Furthermore I can give you reliable price ranges or consider your budget.

The main components of the price calculation are listed below. Please bear in mind that beyond the factors of a single session I have to cover the studio rent, electricity, furniture and of course private costs of my living.

1. Design

2. Body part

3. Size

5. Lines & details

6. Shading

7. Material & equipment

8. Setup & cleaning

Time and effort that is put into consultation, research or the design is taken into account. A custom tattoo is priced higher than a flash tattoo or available design from my website.

Some body parts make it more difficult to inject the ink or need to be handled with more caution than others and thus take more time or risk to be tattooed.

The size of a tattoo is the first reference point of the price calculation but sometimes large bit simple tattoos without shading can be much cheaper than small tattoos with fine details.

Fine lines and many details usually take more time and concentration than thick and simple lines. Fine needles are also more difficult to handle.

Different shading techniques need a different amount of time or ink than others. Some also require special needles which may be more expensive.

A tattoo session consumes lots of products. Next to high quality technical equipment, ink and needles, plastic covers, stencil paper and fluid, cups, paper towels, razors, disinfectants and wound care products are needed - to name just a few.

At last the setup of the tattoo equipment and thorough cleaning before and after a session takes time and resources which are taken into account.

Examples

To get a feeling for how I price my work have a look at the following price ranges. Note that the tattoos shown here serve as a rough orientation and similar designs may result in higher total price. For example if the design conception turns out to be more time consuming, more sessions are needed or the choice of body part makes the realisation more difficult.
